It’s a short one hour drive to Waco, now famous for the Chip and Joanne show, FIXER UPPER, their location the silos and their new restaurant. Homestead Heritage is a great day trip just north of waco and is a working anabaptist farm of over 500 acres, they have shops, a restaurant to die for and so much more,! Look it up, it’s worth the trip. This home isn’t really set up for small children as there is no fence and the pool isn’t child friendly as it’s above ground and requires a ladder to get in and out. We hope this is a retreat for those interested to unplug after the day and enjoy the cows and the quiet time.

Guest can roam freely as long as you close every gate you open!! We are on the edge of the hill country so we have lots of rocky terrain and uneven surfaces outside of the concrete area of the barn. We have an in ground pool that is temperature regulated to a comfortable 87 degrees to nicely off set Texas heat. Seasonal of course. Other things to note We have farm animals that do farm animal type things without regard to who’s watching. There is poop, bugs, ants, spiders, and maybe things that slither, so always be aware of your surroundings. The health, safety, and well-being of our animals is of upmost importance. Please ask us before feeding them anything. PLEASE, PLEASE do not chase our animals. DO NOT let your kids chase our animals!!! It takes a long time for camelids to trust humans. Chasing them will guarantee minimal interaction and this is very annoying to us since we have spent years gaining their trust! Our animals are friendly and we have never had an issue with behavior. Just remember they are prey animals and may be very nervous around strangers! They do kick so avoid touching their butt area. We have a creek and pond where you can fish. Every sq inch of the cabin is customized through distressed finishes and unique design concepts. The front porch has beautiful sunset views. The inside has a very comfortable King bed, surround sound, 55 inch flat screen, full kitchen, dual shower and much more. The back porch has a hot tub, sound and a breathtaking view. Additional inflatable bed for additional visitors. Visitors will be thrilled to stay in this gem.

Back patio overlooking creek and wooded area. 22.5 miles to Cowboys Stadium, 22 miles to Six Flags, 18.9 miles to downtown Dallas, and 15.8 miles to Bishop Arts. Also close to numerous shopping area including Uptown Mall. Safe parking for an RV or 20 ft trailer on property. Country feel within city limits. Farm animals including chickens, goats, and sheep on the other side of the 3.6 acre property. Winding Ridge is a two bedroom early 1900‘s replica guest house located on 22 acres of country bliss. The master bed room features a romantic wrought iron king-sized bed nestled in front of a wood burning fireplace. The second bedroom has a full sized bed with a twin pull out trundle. The master bath features a romantic double tub a large closet with robes and slippers for your use. The second bathroom has a lovely vintage tub and sink with a large shower. The living room hosts a leather couch with a queen sized pull out bed for extra guests who want to cozy up in front of the main fireplace. Winding Ridge beds are furnished with Restoration Hardware’s lovely stonewashed Belgian linen sheets and bedding to help make your stay a memorable one. The home has a large covered patio with grill, tables and living area with fire pit for outdoor enjoyment. Lovely rustic gardens surround the home including a massive old pecan tree to rest under. The wrap around porch with its rocking chairs is the perfect place to view the property or nap in our rough cedar swing bed. Stargaze in our secluded hot tub near the large rock fire pit and the Sunset swing/ picnic table patio. A new rock garden hosts a hammock and a small fire pit and chairs. Enjoy playing indoor games or outdoor horseshoes, washers, and giant Jenga . We have Direct TV and a Amazon Fire stick or bring in movies for the DVD player. There’s Bluetooth boom box for indoor or outdoor pleasure. Nature abounds on the outside t play with the miniature herd of horses, donkeys and goats... your own private petting zoo! ( bring a bag of carrots and make forever friends :) Bring your own bicycles or use our two guest bikes to roam the winding countryside. Motorcyclists will love to stay here and ride the miles and miles of scenic county roads. In summer months, enjoy our pool located at our adjoining property.
